Mission Statement

Acquiring, operating, maintaining firefighting, rescue and other emergency equipment necessary for the preservation of life and the protection of property from fire, storm or any other emergencies that may occur within the area of its operation in Tom Green County.

Teaching, educating and training the members and citizens of said area in the technique of firefighting, rescue and other fire prevention.

Providing rescue and various other emergency services in the event of a catastrophe, calamity, epidemic, illness or accident.

Accepting donations, raising funds, applying for governmental or charitable grants or funding to finance the successful operations of the purposes herein above described.

 

Area Served

Wall VFD serves 474 square miles of Tom Green County and we have mutual aid agreements with the other 9 Volunteer Fire Departments, City of San Angelo, and Goodfellow AFB. We also have/will provide mutual aid out-of-county including Concho, Menard, Kimble, Schleicher, Irion, Coke, and Runnels County, or normally anywhere requested.

Our District includes approximately 20 miles of US Hwy 87 South, more than 25 miles of FM 1223 (Susan Peak RD), 12 miles of FM 765, and approximately 2.5 miles of US 277 South. On these highways, we respond to numerous vehicle fires and crashes, which may include EMS and extrication/rescue. We currently run two trucks that are equipped with rescue tools.
